Shortly after invention of the printing press two Catholic monks in Spain hatched up the rapture doctrine with an anti-Christ because the people were calling the Catholic Church anti Christ. They created the doctrine to form a smoke screen to divert the people's attention away from the Church. The theology never took hold in the church because it was incompatible with other Catholic doctrines. It wasn't until Darby in England started promoting this nonsense that the idea took wings. A crook, an impeached attorney general from Kansas, hatched up his "Scofield Bible" which synchronizes the Bible with this false rapture doctrine. Mike
