British metal or american metal?

Well heavy metal was created in england with bands such as Black Sabbath,Judas Priest and Led zeppelin. But the N.W.O.B.H.M made it popular with acts such as Iron Maiden,Saxon,Diamond Head,Motörhead. But there was a really important N.W.O.B.H.M band called Venom and they were different from the others with their satanic image and stage costumes. They also influenced american metal bands like Slayer,Metallica,Anthrax,Megadeth,Death,… Basically Venom influenced most extreme metal bands. So whats your opinion?
